A social work professional from the University of Madras. Has over 20 years of experience in the field of Development Management, out of which over 11 years exclusively in the field of disaster preparedness, mitigation. The major focus of the activities have been on training and capacity building  of various stakeholders in disaster management, community based interventions, disaster management planning. Had developed model off-site emergency management plans for the various industrial pockets of Madhya Pradesh. Has taken up leadership role in the project ‘strengthening community disaster coping mechanism through CBDRR and District Disaster Management Planning –A Pilot project being implemented at 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh, with the support of Unicef and Government of Madhya Pradesh. Also a national trainer in Incident Command System.Areas of Expertise include among others community based disaster risk reduction, capacity building, disaster research, project management including project design, project implementation and evaluation. Has also developed expertise in education and emergencies, child protection in emergency situations, health systems and disaster management etc. Currently Research Scholar with Rani Durgavati University Jabalpur.
