Academic Background:

Dr. Asit Kumar Patra, a Young Scientist awardee from DST, Govt. of India (2003) is an M. Tech in Atmospheric Science and Technology (Applied Physics) from IIT Kharagpur and Ph. D in Atmospheric Fluid Dynamics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He was a Post-Doctorate Research Fellow for one and half year at IIT Delhi jointly with Super Computing Division at National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), New Delhi.

At present he is a senior faculty member in Disaster Management Institute, Bhopal. After completing his post-graduation, he is actively involved with research for more than 20 years.
