MP ENVIS team participated in National Evaluation Workshop at Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Workshop was inaugurated by Shri Ajay Narayan Jha, Secretary Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. During the National workshop, a summary evaluation of the ENVIS Centres was followed by the roll out of a roadmap for the revamped ENVIS Scheme for the next three years. In the inaugural session, Guest of Honour, Shri Arvind Agrawal, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest & Environment Department Government of Gujarat released ENVIS Knowledge products and also viewed exhibition of ENVIS Publication and Information Products. This Workshop was hosted by Gujarat Ecological Commision, Gandhinagar, Gujarat on behalf of MoEF & CC.

 Madhya Pradesh ENVIS Centre installed an Exhibition at Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Mr. Abhishek Dixit, Information Officer gave the presentation on present working and the future plan of the Centre. In future, the Centre will conduct remote awareness camps on Environment, publish picture books as a learning aid for less educated audience (Students, young children and uneducated people) for creating awareness, provide internship to students, create information products in form of written, audio and visual aids, Project based study on aftermath of floods, mass religious events, erratic climatic events, organizing Chat Show, Group Discussion on environment and climate change which will include students of college, academicians, and environment professionals. We will design banner/brochure on environmental issues to spread awareness about World Environment Day, focusing on forestry/ mining/ Climate Change/ disasters/ etc.

MP ENVIS has taken a new initiative to contribute in the policy development to MP Govt. MP ENVIS is contributing DMI in preparation of Forest Disaster Management Plan. In the future, Centre will provide the internship to students on the Environment Field.

 In National Evaluation Workshop, Dr. Anandi Subramanian, Senior Economic Advisor, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change spoke on Grid based Monitoring and Green Skill Development. She advised to start training in the Centre which should be based on Environmental area.



 

In National Evaluation Workshop, Shri Yashvir Singh, Economic Advisor, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change elaborated on village sensitization by ENVIS Centres under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. He said, all Centres will be working on Project mode during F.Y. 2018-19. All Centres will work on Grid (50*50 km) based monitoring. In this monitoring, there are several parameters such as Geology, Climate, Topography, Soil, Land use Pattern, Hydrogeology (Surface Water and Ground Water), Flora and Fauna (Endangered, vulnerable, rare, medicinal), Pollution (Air, Water, Noise, soil, and industrial), Sensitive Area (Protected area, sanctuaries, Biosphere Reserves), Waste Management (Solid, Hazardous, Biomedical and e-waste, landfill sites), Disaster (Flood, earthquake) etc
